Monsters Music and Words by Clarence Chance

You whispered something, but I heard nothin’
I asked you, what then? and you said nothin’
You packed up your shit and took it down to another piece of it
I made you kiss me, you made me hate you

I don’t need you anymore
I don’t want you anymore
You’re the demon in my verse
You’re the chorus to my curse

You can play Jenga if you wanna
With the fears up in my head
But you can’t keep me safe from these monsters
Like the covers on my bed
You can close the closet but something awful
Can still watch you through the vents
You can scream as loud as you wanna
But no one is coming

I don’t need you anymore
I don’t want you anymore
You’re the little girl with someone else’s porridge
You’re the breadcrumbs in the forest

You could even dream but the Krueger
Is the Shadow on your ceiling
You can count to ten for the lightning
But it keeps on moving in
You can stay away from the bright lights
But you got to stand by the poltergeist
You can say a rosary get on your knees
But what’s the use when the priest is the exorcist

I don’t need you anymore
I don’t want you anymore
You’re the demon in my verse
You’re the chorus to my curse
